Riverside Basement Finishing

This basement had been used for storage and laundry since the house was built, with bare concrete walls and floor and exposed joists overhead. The family wanted a family room, a small home office, and a full bathroom — which meant new framing, insulation, electrical circuits, and a bathroom rough-in tied into the existing drain stack.

We framed and insulated the perimeter walls, ran new electrical circuits (permitted and inspected as part of our standard process on any finished-basement scope), installed a suspended ceiling for future access to plumbing and ductwork, and finished the floor in engineered vinyl plank rated for below-grade moisture.

The project took six weeks against an original five-and-a-half week estimate, with the extra time going into re-routing one drain line that ran closer to a support beam than the original plans had shown — a real-world adjustment we made on-site rather than stopping work to redesign around it.
